Builder of Systems & People

Trusted where clarity is needed. Valued where outcomes matter.
Jeff Prillaman – Builder of Systems. Driver of Transformation. Technology Leader

I move technology and accelerate time to value. Across three decades, I’ve designed, deployed, and scaled platforms that power global business. From the wiring closet to the executive suite, I’ve lived every layer of the stack. I lead cross-architecture initiatives, drive cloud adoption, and accelerate delivery by connecting to achieve results.

I began as an individual contributor—solving outages, deploying infrastructure, and building systems that scaled. I rose through the ranks to IT Director and BIO at Capital One, led enterprise-wide transformations, and today serve as a trusted advisor and program leader at Cisco. I’m stepping back into formal leadership, where I’ve built teams, delivered outcomes, and driven innovation through execution.

Global Infrastructure: From First Responder to Systems Builder (1996–2000)
At Clariant’s AZ Photoresist division, I built the company’s first real IT backbone—technical and organizational:

Launched and led the IT help desk, creating the incident management structure and scaling the team from one to five
Engineered global communications infrastructure with Lucent G3si PBX, Frame Relay, ISDN, and ATM trunking
Rolled out Lucent MCU and PictureTel video systems across the U.S., Germany, Korea, and Japan
Designed and deployed internal systems using Tomcat, VB/Access, HTML/CSS, and Crystal Reports
Earned early certifications across NetWare, Microsoft NT/2000, Lotus Notes, and Lucent voice platforms
This was systems work from the ground up—hands-on, mission-critical, and global from day one.

Enterprise Transformation at Capital One (2000–2010)
At Capital One, I led transformational change across voice, collaboration, HR, and hybrid work infrastructure:

Owned and led the enterprise-wide migration from TDM to Cisco IP Voice (CUCM) and Unity voicemail—branded My Phone, My Way
Deployed Jabber messaging years before its Cisco acquisition, enabling secure real-time enterprise collaboration
Implemented IronPort edge firewall and spam filtering, improving security posture and dramatically reducing user-facing noise
Co-led the deployment of a new enterprise LDAP, supporting modern access control and directory scalability
Designed and executed Future of Work (FOW) environments featuring hybrid access, executive collaboration suites, and secure roaming
Integrated Workday with legacy PeopleSoft platforms, laying the groundwork for scalable enterprise SaaS
Led agile development teams delivering BEA WebLogic portals for HR and Corporate Real Estate—launching and scaling Capital OnePlace, the company’s flagship internal platform
Earlier in my Cap One career, I served under the CIO in the Tech Futures team, where I designed, launched, and ran RILAB (Run It Like a Business)—an innovation lab for piloting emerging technologies with real users. One standout: deploying LightPointe gigabit laser links for point-to-point urban connectivity, solving last-mile challenges and supporting disaster recovery across dense environments.

These years sharpened my architecture mindset and proved a core truth: user trust is the real infrastructure.

Cisco Era: Scaling Strategy, Execution, and Cross-Domain Talent (2010–Present)
Recruited to Tandberg to launch global professional services, I brought that mission forward at Cisco—scaling teams, programs, and impact:

Designed and led the CX Collaboration delivery model, driving execution across Cisco’s most complex global accounts
Created the WSA CX Program, developing senior engineers and PMs into high-trust, cross-architecture delivery teams
Spearheaded cloud migrations across Webex Calling, Cloud Contact Center, and full-stack collaboration ecosystems
Enabled extensibility through integrated delivery with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, and enterprise platforms
Balanced technical strategy with field execution to accelerate outcomes, build trust, and expose friction points before they became blockers
This is where my early hands-on foundation met modern enterprise leadership—where vision, velocity, and architecture all had to align.

I Lead Technologists. I Lead with Vision. I Deliver.
I build teams that execute with purpose and precision. I align deep technical talent across silos and domains, drive programs that scale, and deliver outcomes that matter. I speak the language of engineers and business leaders—and bring them together to move faster and smarter.

What I Believe
Technology either builds belief or erodes it. Adoption is earned. Trust is engineered. Great systems only matter when people succeed with them. That’s why I lead with clarity, build with intention, and deliver with results.

Next Move
I’m stepping back into formal leadership—bringing the full weight of my experience, strategy, and delivery record to drive transformation at scale. The next chapter demands more than management. It needs builders.
